SUPPORT & RESOURCES
The Makeup Institute offers both academic and non academic support services to assist students throughout the duration of their training.
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
The training and assessment of this qualification is a combination of theoretical and practical skills and knowledge application. Assessment is designed to support formative and summative learning:
Formative assessment includes learned workbook activities and practical skills tasks designed to support newly acquired knowledge and skill.
Summative assessment is reflected in 2 major projects designed to include the performance, skill and knowledge developed in each unit. This is applied in a holistic manner to reflect industry practice and build industry tools such as a portfolio, marketing strategy for a freelance make-up business and intended to support the professional practice and continuing vocational success of each learner.
ASSESSMENT OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, each student who has successfully completed the course requirements will have:
-
a range of professional photographs to use in an online portfolio
-
a promotional strategy for their own freelance make-up business
-
an online self promotional tool to maintain industry networks and promote their work to potential clients and employers.
LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are required to have completed Year 10 or equivalent and be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident before enrolling at The Makeup Institute.
If learners feel they may have any language, literacy or numeracy problems that may inhibit normal participation in training, this must be stated on the enrolment form.
The Makeup Institute will make reasonable adjustments to the delivery and assessment of training to enable participation and LLN support will be available to all learners throughout the duration of training and assessment.
UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
From the 1 January 2016 all students enrolled in Nationally Recognised Trianing are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) in order to receive their Qualification or Statement of Attainment.
